托福写作语法：这个句型，大部分同学都会写错

托福大部分题目都包含比较, 所以比较句型是写作中最常用的句型。

但是，老师在看大家的作文时，发现很多同学的比较句型都有错。

请先判断以下句子是否正确： 

1. 城市的生活成本比郊区高。

The cost of living in the city is higher than the suburb.

The cost of living in the city is higher than in the suburb.

2. 我妈妈比我更爱我的狗。

My mother loves my dog more than I.

3. 青少年受同龄人的影响比受他们父母的影响大。

Teenagers are more influenced by their peers than their parents.

如果上面的句子你都判断错误，那么下面的讲解内容都对你很重要了。

今天主要讲含有than的比较句型。

比较句3大定律： 

一. 实质上是2个句子在比较

二. 找准比较对象，且不能省略

三. 比较对象的结构要一致

一. 实质上是2个句子在对比

例: 我游泳比你走路快. 

I swim faster(句1) than you walk(句2).

所以，上面3个句子如果补充完整，应该是???? 这样。

1.我妈妈比我更爱我的狗。

My mother loves my dog more than I love my dog.

2. 城市的生活成本比郊区高。

The cost of living in the city is higher than the cost of living in the suburb is high.

3. 青少年受同龄人的影响比受他们父母的影响大。

Teenagers are more influenced by their peers than teenagers are influenced by their parents.

 

但是写完整后，句子中有很多重复内容。所以就需要把重复内容省略or 指代。

但不能随意省略，否则会出现歧义。

二. 找准比较的对象，且不能省略

例1. 城市的生活成本比郊区高。

完整的句子：The cost of living in the city is higher than the cost of living in the suburb is high.

❌   The cost of living in the city is higher than the suburb.

虽然the cost of living 是一样的，但比较对象不能省去。

否则就变成：城市的生活成本和郊区进行比较。比较对象不一致。

正确句子：The cost of living in the city is higher than that in the suburb.  

① 同类事物，可以用that/those 指代,来避免重复。

这里的cost of living in the city, cost of living in the suburb属于同类事物。

② 如果是同一个事物，可以用they; it 指代。

例: 利润比去年高。

Profits are higher than they were last year.

(今年的profits 和 last year的profits 都值得是同一个利润，是同一个事物。就如，今年的你，和去年的你，都是一个你。)

三. 被比较对象结构要一致

例2. 我妈妈比我更爱我的狗。

My mother loves my dog more than I. ❌ 

这句话出错的原因是有歧义:

① 我妈妈比我更爱我的狗。（my mother. 跟 I 对比 ）

② 我妈妈爱我的狗多于爱我。(my mother loves my dog more than my mother loves me. 我和我的狗在对比)

从语法上看，以上的理解都是正确的。  

为了避免出现这种搞不清比较对象而造成的歧义， 就诞生了第三个铁律：

比较对象的结构要保持一致。

正确句子：My mother loves my dog more than I do. （或者do I.）

① 通过保留各自的谓语动词来体现是2个句子的主语在进行比较。

② 如果2个谓语动词是一样的，那么than后面句子中，就用do/did/does/be 来代替相同的动词。

③ 如果2个谓语都是：情态动词(can/should/..)+相同的动词，那么than后面的句子就只保留情态动词(can/should/..)

④ 如果不会产生歧义，谓语动词相同，也可以省略。

 

例: 一些人在压力之下比另外一些人工作得更低效。

完整句子：Some people work less efficiently under stress than others work under stress. 

再省略：

Some people work less efficiently under stress than others do. ✅

Some people work less efficiently under stress than others. ✅ 

这2句都是正确的，因为第二句即便省略了do 也不会造成比较对象不清的问题。

 

例3： 青少年受同龄人的影响比受他们父母的影响大。

Teenagers are more influenced by their peers than their parents.❌ 

这里的parents 是跟peers 比较。前面是by their peers, 后面也应该是by their parents.

正确句子：Teenagers are more influenced by their peers than by their parents.

比较句3大定律： 

一. 实质上是2个句子在比较

二. 找准比较对象，且不能省略

三. 比较对象的结构要一致

1. 我在中国比在美国有更多的朋友。

I have more friends in China than                .

2. 一些人觉得独自待着的时候比跟其他人在一起时更舒服。

Some people feel more comfortable when they are alone than            . 

3. 在美国，一些公立学校并不比私立学校差。

In America, the quality of some public schools is not lower than             .

4. 通勤者在90s年代比在70s 和80s年代遇到更多的交通堵塞.

Commuters in the 1990s encountered more traffic delays than            . 

答案：

1 I have more friends in China than  in America.

2. Some people feel more comfortable when they are alone than_when they are with others.

3. In America, the quality of some public schools is not lower than that of private schools.

4. Commuters in the 1990s encountered more traffic delays than those in 1970s and 1980s did.
